Alvie J. Pinneo, 95, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Ralph Elmer Pinneo and Bessie Caroline (White) Pinneo. Mr. Pinneo was a graduate of the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa, where he studied accounting. He retired as an accountant with Lennox Industries after over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling, playing the piano, painting and reading. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, having served in England, North Africa and Saipan during World War II. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Springdale, Ark., and was a very active member at First Assembly of God Church in Marshalltown, Iowa, while living there. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his wife of 67 years, Marie Pinneo. He is survived by one son; Paul Pinneo and wife, Linda, of Fayetteville, Ark.; two grandchildren, Todd Pinneo and wife, Melissa, of Bentonville, Ark., Lissa Welch and husband, Casey, of Clarksville, Tenn.; and three great-grandchildren; Ellie Welch, Simon Welch and Brody Pinneo. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 27 at the First Assembly of God Church in Springdale, 1605 W. Robinson Ave., with the Rev. Don Nye and the Rev. Bob Fant officiating. Burial will follow at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
