Lloyd Shackelford

Lloyd Shackelford, 86, of Fayetteville passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, in Springdale. He was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Brentwood, the son of Mort and Nettie Hayre Shackelford. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith, served in the United States Army during World War II, worked for the University of Arkansas, owned and operated Shackelford's Garage and worked for Bruce Terminix. Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; six sisters; one step-daughter, Linda Feltner; and one great-grandson, Christopher Bates. Survivors include his wife, Daisy Simmons Shackelford of the home; one son, Donald Shackelford and wife, Tammy of Combs; two daughters, Connie Boles and husband, Giel of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sharon Bates and husband, Donald of Elkins; two step-daughters, Karen Foshe and husband, Jackie of West Fork and Susan Bottoms and husband, Earl of Birchtree, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Beard's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Foshe officiating. Burial will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
