Royal R. Osburn, 80, of Prairie Grove died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, in Fayetteville. He was born April 14, 1933, in Mountainburg, Ark., the son of Roy Osburn and Amy Rush Osburn. He married the former Sally Gregory on Aug. 3, 1962, in Springdale, Ark. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a school administrator and educator for 42 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sally Osburn of the home; two daughters, Tina Carnahan of Vancouver, Wash., and Alice Hatch of Prairie Grove; five siblings, Doyle Osburn and Dama Smith of Mountainburg, Joyce Sharp of Alma, Liz Peters of Van Buren and Susan Langston of Fort Smith; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild, Michelle Hatch; and two sisters, Geraldine Simco and Avanelle Osburn. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013, in the LDS chapel located at 801 W. Buchanan St., in Prairie Grove. Burial will follow in Conley Cemetery in Mountainburg, under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
