The life of New Orleans native Joy Morgan Germany died June 26, 2013. She was born to the late Velma Thibodeaux Sabella and William Thomas Morgan, Feb. 17, 1953. Joy battled her illness over a three-year period. She never let the illness derail her faith or love for life. Joy's love knew no bounds and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Joy brought life into a Christian marriage and was married 14 magnificent years to Sammy Germany. Joy and Sammy brought two families together, totaling six children and were blessed with four grandchildren. Joy Morgan Germany leaves behind four wonderful siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joy graduated from Riverdale High School, New Orleans, La., in 1971, and received her bachelor degree from the University of New Orleans in general studies, concentrating on French and Spanish languages, in 2005. She strived aimlessly to ensure all people were treated with respect and honor, and was an inspiration to all who met her. After college graduation, Joy continued to use her Christian heart to reach out to all people in learning the word of God. Joy has travelled the world on three continents and continued teaching the word of God, and being a certified instructor, Joy also taught English as a Second Language (ESL). Her travels took her to great lieux, which included Paris and Montpellier, France, San Juan, Costa Rica, as well as California, Wisconsin, Philadelphia and Arkansas. She worked very hard to understand other cultures so she could bring the Christian word into their homes. Joy has lived for the past two years in Bentonville, Ark., where she was a member of the Radiant Life Christian Church, assisting wherever she could. Upon Joy's wishes, the memorial service will be announced at a later date to be held in Slidell, La., under the care of Pastor Rich Noote. In lieu of flowers, Joy has requested to make a donation to the Radiant Life Church or a special charity of choice.
