Dortha 'Dot' Leach Dixon

Dortha "Dot" Leach Dixon, 88, went to be with her Lord on May 5, 2013, surrounded by her family. Born April 20, 1925, Dot was a retired school teacher and homemaker from Dutch Mills, Ark., where she met the love of her life, Glen Jackson "Jack" Dixon. They celebrated over 36 years of marriage before he preceded her in death. She is survived by three children, Glen Dixon (Jan), Ean Colley (Scott) and Hugh Dixon (Kelly). She was loved by grandchildren, Chris Dixon (Kristen), Matt and Madison Colley and Alex and Jake Driver; and one great-grandchild, Ethne Dixon. She is also survived by a brother, Jerry Leach (Rosalie) in Lincoln, Ark. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Raymond and Ruth Leach and sister and brother-in-law, Banita and Homer Sparks. Dot was a member of Faith Baptist Church and a previous member of Germantown Baptist Church. Some of her favorite memories were at her lake house on Lake Mitchell in Clanton, Ala. She will also be missed by many friends that she enjoyed entertaining at her home and sharing loaves of homemade sourdough bread. A funeral service was held on May 8, 2013, at the Collierville Funeral Home in Collierville, Tenn. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the Liberty Baptist Church in Dutch Mills, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark.
