Robert F. DeMars

Robert F. DeMars, 84, of Fayetteville was called home to heaven Wednesday, June 5, 2013, in Springdale. He was born Nov. 1, 1928, in North Mankato, Minn., the son of DeMars and Bertha Scoffield-DeMars. He and his wife, Edna moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1994 to retire. Edna, his beloved wife of 52 years, preceded him in death. Survivors include his daughter, Debra Cox of Fayetteville; son-in-law, Raymond Cox of Fayetteville; daughter, Renee Collins of Fayetteville; sister, Grace Nelson of South Rapids, Minn.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army during Korean conflict and in the National Guard. He will be buried with military honors. We will always remember him for his devotion to family and his sense of humor. The family will have a graveside service later under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
