Rubye E. Gardner died June 5, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 66 years; Herchel T. Gardner, one daughter; Carrye Greene of Little Rock, two sons; Lynn of Fayetteville and Van and his wife Diane of Little Rock, and one sister; Vivian Berryman of Corpus Christi, Texas. Rubye was a model in all she did. After working the first five years of their marriage, she was a wonderful wife and mother for the remainder of her life. She was active in her church, Bible study and many other activities with her husband and family. She supported her husband throughout his business career and often traveled with him. He always affectionately referred to her as the wind beneath his wings because what he accomplished would not have been possible without her. She loved to dance and was a good teacher. Her children and husband loved her so much and were so very proud of her accomplishments. She loved the water and loved to be with her family at their lake home. She lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for several years overlooking the Bay of Corpus Christi and the gulf. A private service was conducted by Reverend David Moore. Memorials may be in Rubye's name made to the Permanent Endowment Fund at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1700 Napa Valley Dr., Little Rock, Ark. 72212.
