Melinda Sue Smith

Melinda Sue Smith, 73, of Rogers, died Saturday, June 1, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. She was born May 7, 1940, at Pico Rivera, Calif., to Charles Harry Wilson and Jennie Mae Russell Wilson. She moved to this area in 2006 from Tulsa, Okla., to make her home. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, painting, hand quilting, crocheting and crocheting bedspreads. She was a homemaker, a Christian, and is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kelly Hammond; one brother, Douglas Henry Wilson; and one sister, Patricia Dale Wilson. Survivors are three daughters, La Donna Jean Williams of Rogers, Dana Arlene VanHouse and husband Bob of Jenks, Okla., Regina Dale Smith of Sapulpa, Okla.; stepmother, Juanita Marie LaFollette Wilson of El Reno, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside service is set for Wednesday, June 5, 1 p.m. at Buttram Chapel Cemetery in Pea Ridge with Chaplain Chuck Bengtson officiating. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
