Robert Bo Hurtt Hoekstra

Robert "Bob" Hurtt Hoekstra, 83, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. He was born on April 19, 1930, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Harold Hoekstra and Lucille Bishop Hoekstra. He was raised and educated in Michigan. He was a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army from 1952-1955 during the Korean Conflict. Bob married Kathryn Feehan in 1958 in Detroit, Mich. He was employed by Chrysler Corporation for over 28 years. They lived in New York; Kansas City, Kan.; Chicago; and retired and moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1988. He enjoyed boating and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Thayer and George. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Hoekstra of Bella Vista, Ark.; three sons, Robert Hoekstra of Tucson, Ariz., John Hoekstra of London, England, Ted Hoekstra and wife, Tammie, of Midlothian, Va.; one daughter, Kelly Von De Bur and husband, Kurt, of Rocky Face, Ga.; and grandchildren, Kevin, Kelsey, Keith, Jakson and Jaden. No services are planned. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
