Leland Wayne Sorensen

Leland Wayne Sorensen, 84, of Ridgecrest, Calif., passed away July 24, 2013. He was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Nebraska. He was in hospice care in Ridgecrest, Calif. He was an electrician at Kerr McGee in Trona, Calif., and China Lake Naval Base. He was much loved. He was a member of the Lutheran church. He was a member of the Trona Presbyterian Church under the Rev. Don Sweet. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte, in 1996. He is survived by daughters, Pam Guest of Bella Vista, Ark., and Penny Gerdes of Ridgecrest, Calif.; son, Randy Sorensen of Trona, Calif.; sister, Donna Edwards of Glendale, Calif; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; girlfriend, Jean Williams of Ridgecrest, Calif.
