Norma Jean Shields

Norma Jean Shields, age 83, of Bella Vista, Ark., and formerly of Mena, Ark., passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home at Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. Norma was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 27, 1929, to Leonard and Avalee (Long) Taylor. Norma enjoyed drives around the lake, going out to eat, spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Charlene; one brother, James Taylor; and one sister, Mildred Morris; Norma is survived by two sons, Neal Garrett Shields and wife, Sue, of Texas, James Neal Shields and wife, Marilyn, of Oden, Ark.; one daughter, Karla Jean Moore and husband, Joe, of Bella Vista; four grandchildren, Kelly, Kimberly, Travis and Dillon; three great-grandchildren, Aurielle Rose, Addison Jean and Emery Lafayette; and numerous other relatives and many friends. Celebration of Life services will be 6 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Benton County Memorial Park's Funeral Home Chapel, 3800 W. Walnut, in Rogers, Ark., with Pastor Galen Pearcy officiating.
