Jimmie Douglas Cornelius, 76, of West Fork passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 28, 1936, in Salem, Ark., the son of James Taft Cornelius and Iona Lawyer Cornelius. He owned and operated the Jim's Grocery and Market in West Fork in the '60s and '70s. He enjoyed his farm and cattle and worked to clean and clear the land to make better pastures. He also enjoyed horses, mules and coon hunting, as well as visiting with his friends and family. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a granddaughter. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Charlene; two daughters, Kathy Cornelius of West Fork and LaDonna Brown of Florida; two sisters, June Armstrong of Batesville, Ark., and Vearl Croft of Lebanon, Mo.; five grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. A visitation for Jim will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Moore's Chapel, Fayetteville, Ark.
