Robert William Armstrong

Robert William "Bill" Armstrong, 71, of Elkins, Ark., died Jan. 25, 2013, at the Veterans Healthcare System of the Ozarks at Fayetteville. He was born June 9, 1941, at Huntsville, Ark., the son of Robert Grey and Roa Melba Harwood Armstrong. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Marine Corps and a retired truck driver for Tyson Foods, Inc. Survivors include his wife, to whom he was married on May 8, 1964, Myrna Joyce Litterell Armstrong of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Grey and Terri Armstrong of Elkins, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Donnie Hughs of Elkins, Ark.; one brother, Jim Walter Harris of Prairie Grove, Ark.; three grandchildren and one grandson-in-law, Laci Armstrong of Springdale, Ark., Erin and Tom Cleveland and Robbie Hughs, all of Elkins, Ark.; and one great-grandchild, Jaden of Springdale, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Marshall Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville, www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. Pallbearers will be David Jones, Mike Elwin, Tim Litterell, Terry Litterell, Jimmy Joe Harris and William Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Hughs and Tom Cleveland. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present.
