Mary Jewel McKenzie Reed, age 89, of West Fork, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born Oct. 7, 1923, at Winslow, Ark., the daughter of Oliver and Ethel McKenzie. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Janice Jagodzinski Taylor; two grandsons, David Taylor and Stevie Taylor; a sister, Sarah Patrick; first husband, Francis Jagodzinski and second husband, Harry Reed. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of Campbell Soup Company. She liked flowers, gardening and watching her birds and squirrels from her window. She also loved to watch cartoons with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Katie Jones of Prairie Grove and Shirley Karnes of West Fork; three sisters, Maggie Fox of West Fork, Ellen Phillips and husband Donnie of Fayetteville and Violet Phillips and husband Leon of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Danny Doiel and wife Valerie, Yancy Karnes, Franklin Karnes and wife Christie, Bradford Taylor and wife Debbie, Tonya Taylor, Edna Combs and Katherine Slocum; 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5–7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28 at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Moore's Chapel with burial at West Fork Cemetery.
