Loyd G. Allred

Loyd G. Allred, 86, of Springdale passed away Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Dec. 28, 1926, near George, Ark., to Ausbin F. and Edith M. Newberry Allred. He was married in 1945 to Reeta J. Bowen Allred. He served in the United States Army. He was retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad and Emerson Electric Company. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and bluegrass music. He attended Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, an infant son, one sister and one brother. Survivors include two sons, Edward Allred and wife, Sandra of Springdale and Eldon Allred and wife, Beverly of Rogers; two daughters, Carolyn Owens and Brenda Gregory and husband, Roger, all of Springdale; four grandchildren, Louann Adair, Ellis Gregory, Aaron Allred and Christa Broome; eight great-grandchildren, Christopher, Justine, Nicholas, Zoe, Kylie, Kadence, Lindy and Kimber; and one sister, Idola Myers of Harrison. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Plumlee Church with the Rev. Clark Snow officiating. Burial will be in Plumlee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons, grandsons and Roger Gregory and Donnie Gibbons.
