Archie Dee "Rick" Ricker, 75, of Springdale, Ark., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Fayetteville Veteran's Hospital. Rick was born on Dec. 28, 1937, in Mack's Creek, Mo., a son of Henry Ricker and Nera Moulder Ricker. He married Sharen Daniel in 1964 in Siloam Springs, Ark., celebrating 49 years of marriage. Rick was a businessman having owned and operated Rick's Shoe Store in downtown Springdale for 33 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Military Police as an Airman First Class, was a member of Cross Church in Springdale, he enjoyed being with his family, he liked hunting, fishing and was an avid Razorback fan. He is survived by his wife, Sharen of the home; one son, Stephen Ricker and wife, Kay, and their children, Nicole, Hanna and Elizabeth, all of Rogers; one daughter, Stephenie and her husband, Jason Davis, and their daughter, Alexandria, all of Fayetteville; two brothers, Dale Ricker and wife, Becky, of Smithville, Mo., and John Ricker and wife, Charlene, of Liberty, Mo.; and one sister, Darlene Russell of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister in-law, Doris Pond of Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, from 4 to 5 p.m., with a Celebration of Life being held at 5 p.m., with Pastor Charlie Foster and Pastor D. J. Hoover officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Veterans Hospital; or to the Sun Ministries, P.O. Box 463, Avoca, AR 72711.
