Leota Frances Hood

Leota Frances Hood died on Jan. 13, 2013, just 12 days short of her 102nd birthday. She was born in Vaughn on Jan. 25, 1911, and spent most of her life in Bentonville. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucy Perkins; her husband, V.E. Hood; a son, Von Hood; two grandchildren, Vonnie Hood and Ginger LaBass; and two sisters, Lucille Lawson (her twin) and Nellie Simpson. She is survived by eight children and their spouses, Darlene Hinton (Ladson), Mary Drevdahl, Gaye Stein, Mary Jo Hood (wife of Von), Charlie Hood (Charlotte), Ivan Hood (Helen), Norman Hood (Suzy), Forrest Hood and David Hood (Sharon). She is survived by 21 grandchildren, Ladson, Devon and Alex Hinton, John Drevdahl, Linda-Carol Ford, Jennifer and Skip LaBass, Michael Hood and Carol Harris, Kent Hood and Lisa Parker, Mary Lynn Commer, Allen and Jerry Hood, Robin, Lonnie, Christopher, Joe and Tiffany Hood, and Robert and Maryann Hood. She has 34 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. at Rollins Funeral Chapel.
