Jeanine Barrett, resident of Owasso, passed away following a car accident on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the age of 63. Jeanine was born March 3, 1949 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Tracy Halford and June Orene (Jenkins) Barrett (both deceased).  She was raised in Springdale, Ark., often visiting family in Sparta, Mo. She earned her Bachelors Degree from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of the Arkansas Razorback Marching Band and Tau Beta Sigma service sorority. She earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Oklahoma. On December 21, 1969, Jeanine and James Brown were united in marriage in Springdale, Ark., and their children Emily and Kirk were born ten years later. She lived in Muskogee, Okla. for many years, working most of her career as a medical librarian for the Veterans Administration in several facilities across the country. She moved to Owasso two years ago to live with her daughter, though she most loved travelling to Missouri to spend time with her grandkids usually with several poodles in the car (and a giant Sonic drink). Those that survive and hold many cherished memories are her daughter Emily Christensen and husband Nathan of Owasso, Okla.; son Kirk Brown and wife Carolyn of Springfield, Mo.; sister, Jennifer Manus and husband David of Rogers, Ark.; grandchildren, Rilie, Sarah, Zachary, Cobie, Billie and Jessica; and her poodles April, Little Bit, and Trey. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9300 N. 129th East Ave., Owasso, Okla. Officiating will be Bishop Bruce Nielsen, with Nathan Christensen and James Johnson speaking. Those who would like to honor her memory may do so by contributing to the Jeanine Barrett Funeral Fund at Arvest Bank (account 0016730157) or the American Cancer Society, 4110 S 100th East Ave., Grant Bldg, Suite 101, Tulsa, Okla. 74146.
