Betty Ransom

Betty Ransom, 81, of Fort Smith passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. She was born May 9, 1931, in Fort Smith to the late John and Irene Garrett. She was a member of the Church of Christ and retired from Wal-Mart #16 in Van Buren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Ransom; her daughter, Sherry Ransom; and her son, Gary Ransom. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel with burial to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by her son, Ronnie Ransom of Fayetteville; her brother, John I. Garrett Jr. of Little Rock; and her brother-in-law, Billy Ransom. Honorary pallbearers will be Associates from Wal-Mart #16 in Van Buren. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the funeral home.
