Kathleen Tackett, 82, of Prairie Grove fell asleep in death on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Washington Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1930, in Fayetteville to William Henry Cannon and Frances Josephine Cannon. She was united in marriage to Bob Tackett on May 10, 1953. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother. Kathleen was a longtime earnest student of the Bible and a faithful servant of Jehovah God. She enjoyed sharing his kingdom message and the Bible truth with her friends and neighbors. The Arkansas Historical Quarterly wrote a biography in the spring 2005 edition documenting Kathleen's childhood experiences regarding religious rights in the 1940s. With the support of her parents, she took a stand and exercised her right to practice freedom of religion, gathering support from Washington County to have small-town public schools respect the rights of all its students and their beliefs. Kathleen Tackett was an extraordinary woman that had the ability to make friends and leave a great impression with everyone she met. All of her family was with her at the time of her passing. She was, and always will be, loved by all. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Wayne Eugene Tackett; grandsons, Jason Randall Lininger and Robert (Bobby) Eric Tackett; and granddaughter, Stephanie Mary-Kathleen Tackett. She is survived by a son, Jim Bob Tackett; and three daughters, Brenda Karol Lininger, Elizabeth Janice Richardson and Sheila Marie Copeland. She also has one brother, Keith Cannon; and her sister, Mary Mason. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as three nieces, a daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law, all who loved and adored her. The memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, located on Highway 71 at 454 N. Centennial Ave., West Fork, AR 74774. The memorial talk will be given by Michael Meche. Flowers can be sent to the Kingdom Hall on the day of service.
