James "J.G." Gerrain Taylor, 85-year-old resident of Gentry, Ark., died Jan. 6, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice, Springdale, Ark. Born Nov. 26, 1927, in Rector, Ark., he was the son of Hubert Taylor and Blanche Johnson Taylor. J.G. married Ella Crowson on May 28, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. He worked as a builder for many years before entering the ministry in 1977. J.G. was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bentonville, Ark. J.G. was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Louise Thetford and Betty Graves; and one brother, Lavaughn Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Ella; two daughters, Linda Syfert and husband, Don, of Gentry, Ark., Judy Brown and husband, Jerry, of Kansas, Okla.; two granddaughters, Megan Syfert of Siloam Springs, Ark., Kandis Lemon of Lawton, Okla.; two great-grandsons, Camden Murphy of Siloam Springs, Blayd Silva of Lawton; one brother, Joe Taylor of Paragould, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Gentry Seventh-day Adventist Church, Gentry, Ark., with Elder Duane Lauer officiating. Burial will be at Gentry Cemetery, Gentry, Ark.
