Shirley Lois Kessler

Shirley Lois Kessler, 86, of Bella Vista died Feb. 12, 2013, at Concordia Care Center in Bella Vista. She was born on July 19, 1926, in Melvin, Ill., to William Gerth and Englena Dickman Gerth. She grew up on a farm in Central Illinois; worked in the War Bond office in Chicago, Ill., where she met her future husband, George J. Kessler, and they married in 1953. They moved to Bella Vista in 1983. She was active in the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista and loved golfing. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, George J. Kessler. She is survived by son, John Kessler and wife, Janet Lasher, of Charlotte, N.C.; and one grandson, Julian Kessler of Charlotte, N.C. No services are planned. Arrangements are by the Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista.
