Irene Veilleux, 84, of Springdale died Wednesday Feb. 13, 2013, at Westwood Health & Rehabilitation Center in Springdale. She was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Cornville, Maine, to James Alexander and Christie Bell Eaton Seamans. Irene entered nursing training at Sister's Hospital in Waterville, Maine, graduating in 1948. She nursed in various medical centers for over 50 years. She married Raymond P. Veilleux, the love of her life, in 1951. She enjoyed knitting, singing and dancing in her early years, and later, attending her grandsons' sports and musical activities. She loved spending the weeks of July at the Seamans' family camp on Pattee's Pond in Winslow, Maine. She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Cardiel and husband, Andy, of Springdale, Paula Rae Mitchell and husband, Larry, of Waterville, Maine; five grandchildren, Sean Wendland, Alexander Cardiel, Troy Cardiel, Sheila Coley, Cary Wendland; and her unique blended family of 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A memorial mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home; online guest book at heritageofnwa.com.
