Jean Pierre Bechand III

Jean Pierre Bechaud III, 67, of West Fork, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical in Fayetteville. He was born May 18, 1945, in Longview, Texas, to Jean Pierre and Mary Louise Freudiger Bechaud, Jr. Jean served in the Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He became a Christian and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior in 1985. He was an active member of Mission Boulevard Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a Boy Scout leader. He had a passion for sharing the gospel and studying the Bible. Jean loved time with family and friends. He enjoyed building things, gardening and riding motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Anita (Ellis) Bechaud of the home, whom he married Feb. 13, 1971, in Terrytown, La.; two children, Jeff Bechaud and wife, Lace and Theresa Bechaud and special friend, Vicki Haynes, all of Springdale; his mother, Mary Bechaud of West University, Texas; one brother, Joseph Michael Bechaud and wife, Mary of Cypress, Texas; four grandchildren, Jessica, Kristen, Heather and Collin Bechaud; and one great-grandchild, Carter Sutton. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Mission Boulevard Baptist Church. Family interment will be Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Fayetteville National Cemetery.
