Lucy D. Batson

Lucy D. Batson, 87, of Springdale, died Feb. 12, 2013, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. She was born Dec. 4, 1925, in Midland, Ark., to Monroe and Edith Carter Duffle. Lucy was a sales clerk for Croom's Dress Shop and Joyce Drug Store. She retired from Dillards in 1994. She was a volunteer for the Northwest Medical Center Auxiliary. Lucy married Charles Dean Batson in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1962. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Lucy is survived by one son, Charles Batson and wife, Gayle, of Little Rock; daughters, Sharon Bookout and grandson, Nathanael Bookout of Tulsa, and Connie O'Mara and husband, Ralph, of Springdale. Lucy was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Connie, for many years. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morrilton, Ark.
