Marjorie E. Deering

Marjorie E. Deering, 92, passed away Feb. 6, 2013, in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born in Council Grove, Kan., on Oct. 28, 1920, to the late Allen and Eleanor (Durell) Garrett. Mrs. Deering enjoyed watching birds, was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading on health issues. She also loved spending time with family and friends. She worked as a nurse's aide for many years in Colorado. Mrs. Deering is survived by her two daughters, Betty Rutledge of Bentonville and Leoma Howland and Robert Howland Sr. of Colorado; brother, Allen Garrett of Kansas; sisters, Lois Cox of Washington, Edith Peterson and Ethel Hastings, both of Kansas; grandchildren, John Rutledge of Rogers, Marjorie White of Colorado, Robert Howland Jr. of Colorado, Steven Howland of Colorado and Mark Howland of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Will, John, Jason, Aaron and Tyler; great-great-grandchildren, Asher, Drake, Gage, Grace and Matthew. She was predeceased by her husband, John Deering; and sisters, Mildred Garrett, Pauline King, Dorothy Dozier and Evelyn Garrett. Her visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, from 2 until 3 p.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, with a service at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Colorado Springs, Colo.
