Darryll Brandon

Darryll Brandon was born April 1, 1952, to Leland Arthur Brandon and Betty Louise Fairbanks Brandon at Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, Calif. Being raised in a military family, Darryll lived in many locations, including California, Newfoundland, Arkansas and Kansas. After graduating high school in 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served 20 years in the intelligence field before retiring in San Antonio, Texas. He then served University United Methodist Church in San Antonio as building superintendent for 16 years. He and his wife, Debbie Wilson Brandon, moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 2007. Darryll, preceded in death by his mother, Betty Brandon, leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Debbie Wilson Brandon; four children, Tim Brandon of San Antonio, Heather Franks (husband, Adam Franks) of Lincoln, Calif., Travis Brandon of Phoenix, Ariz., and Stephani Wolfe (husband, Brett Wolfe) of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren who knew him as Papa, McKenzie, Alan, Morgan and Jameson; his father, Leland Brandon; three sisters, Lynette Floyd, Lucy Ferguson and Lori McNamara; 14 nieces and nephews; and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews. Darryll was a great giver of time and talent to many. His interests were photography, woodworking and his 1940 Buick, to name just a few. He loved serving the Lord in any way he could and was a devoted servant in The Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis. Darryll battled stage four melanoma for two years and was well taken care of by Dr.Thaddeaus Beck of Highlands Oncology. Darryll was surrounded by his father, sisters, brothers-in-law and wife as he passed peacefully from this life on Jan. 12, 2013, into the hands of God. A celebration of life memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Bentonville.
