Jon Joseph Hurley

Jon Joseph Hurley, born on Feb. 11, 1951, passed on Christmas Eve day in grace. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Hurley; mother, Jessie Mae Tharp; brother, Bob Hurley; a nephew and a great-nephew. He is survived by his son, Jeremy Abbott; three sisters, Janell Howard, Pamela Shepherd and Darla Cox; three nephews and six nieces; 25 great-nieces and -nephews; and his furry companion and best friend, Babe. Born with his beloved twin sister in Lynwood, Calif., Jon was an accomplished musician and craftsman, the cherished brother and friend to a tremendous circle of family and friends, and an avid lover of life. He shared his heart, talents, laughter and spirit with every person he touched and lived life with great joy, dignity, compassion and courage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Willard Walker Hospice Home, Fayetteville, Ark., or your local humane society, animal shelter or rescue.
