Frances Deviney Livie, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away from natural causes on Dec. 19, 2013, at the age of 99. She was born to Jesse and Lora Deviney in Julian, N.C., on Nov. 14, 1914. Frances met and married Dr. Robert Livie, during World War II. Together they raised their five children in Anchorage, Alaska, where she lived for 30 years. After her husband died in 1968, she went on to become a sorority housemother for 20 years. She then lived with her daughter in West Fork, Ark., where she remained until the time of her passing. Mrs. Livie was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband; four brothers, Dewitt, Kenneth, J. Norman and Mark Deviney; one son, J. Norman Livie; two daughters, Lora Lee and Ginger Livie; and one granddaughter, Denise Henington. She is survived by daughters, Frances R. Bobbi Henington of West Fork, Ark., Cathy Williams of Bella Vista, Ark.; stepdaughter, Tanya Pierce of Bellavue, Wash.; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great-granddaughter. Cremation is under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville; a private family burial will be scheduled for a later date.
