Lorna G. Miller, 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. She was born April 11, 1921, in South Milwaukee, daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Baxter) Strachan. On Oct. 6, 1943, she married John H. Miller at The Church of the Open Door, Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2007, after being married for 64 years. Lorna was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. She enjoyed spending time cooking, baking and handcrafting. During her lifetime, Lorna was involved at her church, including singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School in both Wisconsin and Rogers, Ark. Survivors include four children, John (Sue) Miller, Wausau, Robert (Janet) Miller, Mosinee, Tricia (David) Cotrone, Hamburg and James (Connie) Miller, New Berlin; 13 grandchildren, Rachel Williams, Oshkosh, Sarah (John) Gasper, Wausau, Hannah (Jonathon) Taussig, Kansas City, Kan., Abraham (Jessie) Miller, Des Moines, Iowa, Clint (Heidi) Miller, Mosinee, Nathan (Stacy) Miller, Sheboygan, Michelle (Brian) Severt, Merrill, Naomi (Dean) Klockziem, Marathon City, Elizabeth (Phil) Hutson, Fort Wayne, Ind., Adam Cotrone, Wausau, Amy (Jeffrey) Stempniewski, Milwaukee, Laura (Austin) Schmitt, Menomonee Falls, Dan Miller, Waukesha; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Jeanie Strachan, Rogers, Ark., who was like a daughter to Lorna. Besides her parents and husband, John, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred (Walter) Hehn and Grace (Howard) Maltsberger; and one brother, Theodore (Velma) Strachan. Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 3, 2013, at Wausau Bible Church. Pastor Chris Juvinall will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to Wausau Bible Church, 1300 Grand Ave., Wausau, WI 54403. Graveside committal services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 4, 2013, at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin.
