James E. Ferguson Jr.

James E. Ferguson Jr., 75, of rural Windsor, Mo., and Bentonville, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at his home near Windsor. He was born Nov. 28, 1937, near Windsor, Mo., on the family farm, the son of James Ellis Ferguson Sr. and Helen Virginia (Allen) Ferguson. On Sept. 15, 1962, in Kansas City, Mo., he married Shirley Sue Boland, and she survives of the home in Arkansas. After graduating from Windsor High School, Jim enlisted in the United States Marines Corps and served his country. After his discharge from the Marines, he worked for Bendix Corporation in Kansas City for several years. He then went into real estate and was a Real Estate broker/sales person in the Bella Vista and Bentonville, Ark., area for many years, ultimately owning and operating his own agency, Land Ho Real Estate. He coached children's teams of Little League baseball and basketball. He loved living on the family farm, where four generations of his family have lived. He enjoyed his dogs, especially his beloved dog, Ruby. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; a son, James Ellis "Trey" Ferguson III and his wife, Kathy, Bentonville, Ark.; two daughters, Deborah S. Collins and her husband, Roy, and Dana Nicole Owens and her husband, Ron, all of Willard, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Lee Ferguson. Cremation. No services. Burial to be at a later date.
