Robert "Bob" Sherman Goodman

Robert "Bob" Sherman Goodman, 71, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Aug. 23, 2013. He was born in Redondo Beach, Calif., on May 12, 1942 to Justice Avery Goodman and Mary Brooks Gossard. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother, John Goodman and granddaughter, Sadi Lea Ruth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He served his country in the Navy and Naval Reserves; he was proud of his service to his country and was very patriotic. His word was his bond and he had a strong sense of right and wrong and wasn't afraid to stand up and tell you. He had a fun loving spirit, a hearty laugh and an unending love for his family. His heart beats no more, but he lives within each of us that knew him and loved him. He will be missed by his wife of 30 years, Mary Jane Frederick Goodman; sister, Mary Jo Myers; daughter, Cari Ruth and husband, Jim; stepson, Jeff Bartlett; daughter, Robin Thomas and husband Derrick; daughter, Toni Fairman and husband, Trey; son, George Goodman and wife, Kris; son, Robert Otis Goodman; grandchildren, Rachele Rhodes and husband, John Ramanda Snow and husband, Brandon, Neriah Ruth, Lyla Ruth, Hannah Giddens and husband, Jerry, Ezra Ruth, Levi Ruth, Joshua Ruth, Tristan Thomas, Brittan Thomas, Cayden Thomas, Ivey Fairman, Alex Fairman, Courtney Cotton and husband, Johnny, Makenzie Harp, Nathan Mitchell, Jason Mitchell, Colton Goodman and Elijah Cash; great-grandchildren, Bethany Mitchell, Mikayla Ruth, Micah Ruth, Mason Buras, Karson Goodman, Gabriel Giddens and Alyssa Cotton. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Sang Avenue Baptist Church with Pastors Les Fletcher and Bruce Potter officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at Beard's Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 3291 S.
