Joyce Ann Johnston

Joyce Ann Johnston, 70, of Huntsville, Ark., died Aug. 21, 2013, at her home. She was born Jan. 7, 1943, at Davilla, Texas, the daughter of The Rev. William James and Lucille Crow Dodd. She was a retired secretary, a volunteer at the Madison County Pet Shelter's Paws and Claws Thrift Cottage and active in the Madison County Democrat Women. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Franklin Dodd. Survivors include: her husband, Bob M. Johnston of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sandra and Ruben Jaquez of Rockwall, Texas, Jenny and Andy Helms of Denver, Colorado and Becky Poston of Bowie, Maryland; two grandsons, Matthew Case of Rockwall, Texas and Paul Laird, Jr. of Bedford, Texas; three granddaughters, Kelly Case of Rockwall, Texas, Kristy Helms of Denver, Colo., and Marcella Bell of Lewistown, Pa.; and one great-grandson, Ezra Bell of Lewistown, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Rev. Brandon Brasel officiating with a visitation to follow. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at the Val Verde Cemetery near Davilla, Texas, with Billy Ray Crow officiating.
