Betty R. Vick, 78, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical Center. Betty was born to Ruby and Maude Brown on Aug. 31, 1934. Betty was a longtime resident of Marked Tree, Ark., before moving to Fayetteville, Ark., in 1990. Betty was a member of Christ's Church of Fayetteville. Betty retired from Fayetteville Public Schools. Betty Vick was loved by many. For Betty, life was about the children; whether they were her own children or the children she encountered throughout her years of child care. Betty loved them all. The kids Betty Vick loved and cared for followed her on into adulthood and throughout life. Betty Vick had a heart of gold. Betty always had room in her heart to love one more. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Vick; daughter, Cynthia R. Vick; and Robert and Renee Bell. Betty was an avid Razorback fan and loved the game of golf. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Vick; godson, Alex Self; Brandon Byers, Mindy Hunt, Megan Byers and Hannah Byers; nephews and nieces, friends, and her congregation at Christ's Church and Pastor James Huffman. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Moore's Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at Moore's Chapel, with Pastor James Huffman officiating. Another service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Church of God Prophecy, 100 Locust St., in Marked Tree, Ark., with Pastor James Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Tyronza Cemetery.
