Cynthia Carol Cook, 81, of Greenwood, Ind., passed away at her home on Aug. 1, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Kokomo, Ind., to Fred and Opal Windle on Oct. 31, 1931. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her five children, Jeff Cook of Springdale, Ark., Craig Cook of Woodstock, Ga., Graydon Cook of Blandon, Pa., Cindy Miller of Wilmington, Del., Jay Cook of Indianapolis, Ind.; and nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Windle of Greenwood, Ind.; and her sister, Martha Wilborn of Trafalgar, Ind. Preceding her in death were her husband, R. Glen Cook (2001); her parents; and brothers and sisters, Harold Windle, Bud Windle, Jean Koch, Violet Ronk and Jack Windle. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon on Monday, Aug. 5 with burial next to her husband immediately after, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, Ind. The Children of Cynthia would like to express their thanks to family and friends for their love, kindness, support, and compassion during her long illness. Given the complications of providing continuous home care, this difficult task merits special recognition and gratitude to St. Francis Hospital Hospice, Bob Quick, Melanie Dahlhauser, Jay Cook, Jeffery Cook, and the Windle cousins for their continuous acts of kindness to make possible mom's final wish to pass at home.
