Bessie Irene Cuzick Pennell

Bessie Irene Cuzick Pennell went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 4, 2013, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Ark. Bessie was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Odell, Ark., the third child of Eugene and Lee (Brock) Cuzick. Her husband, L.D. Pennell, died in October 1988. He and Bessie celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on May 23, 1988. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Juanita Sweaney, Johnie Cuzick and Martha McLeod; and four brothers, Woodrow, Harrison, Vinace and Clay Cuzick. Bessie was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Lincoln. She is survived by one brother, Aubrey Cuzick of Prairie Grove; and five sisters, Mary Reed of Prairie Grove, Lola Smith of Cassville, Mo., Louella Padgett and Anna Spear of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Paula Cox of Lincoln, Ark.; 25 nephews and nieces; and a host of great-nieces and -nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Lincoln, Ark. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery.
