Emma Lou Vaughn Combs

Emma Lou Vaughn Combs, 87, of Rogers, Ark., died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. She was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Delaney, Ark., to Walter Lewis Guinn and Emma Line Faubus Guinn. She retired from the Arkansas Revenue Office as the administrator in Carroll County. She and her family traveled and were blessed to live in many wonderful parts of the country, making friends everywhere she lived. Lou enjoyed senior dances and play cards with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Joe Parker Vaughn in 1988; her second husband, Mel Combs; one son, Phillip Vaughn; one daughter, Penny Vaughn; son-in-law, Larry (Mike) Porter; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Porter, of Rogers; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces; one nephew; and her dear friend, Clyde Myers, of Rogers. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ark., with Rev. Shawn Wallace officiating.
