John Moody, age 38, deacon of Celebration Marshallese-Church in Springdale, Ark., died 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark. Born June 18, 1973, on Majuro Atoll, Marshall Islands. A devoted husband and father, John Moody (Royal Errubra-Clan) leaves behind his lovely wife, Elina Moody (Raur-Clan) of Ronron Atoll, and their three beautiful children, his eldest and son being Ivan Moody, following daughter, Alina Moody, and youngest son, David Moody, whom he deeply loved and cherished till his dying day. Further. John, eldest son of John Moody Sr. (Makauleej-Clan) from Mejit Atoll, and Shem Airam (Royal Errubra-Clan) of Namdrik Atoll, leaves behind his parents and 12 more siblings, who loved him. John, the son of John Moody Sr., who is credited with being the founder of the Marshallese community in NWA, spent most of his life in Springdale, his home. A man of many achievements, John attended Bull Dog High School graduating in the class of '93, worked at Rockline Industries, and became a member and later Deacon of the Celebration Marshallese-Church, devoting his life to God, family, countless friends, congregation, and community. Deacon-John Moody's memorial viewing will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 18th-20th at the Anij Eman Marshallese-Church on 2705 Chapman Ave. in Springdale for all who knew him; graveside services for interment will be held at 3 p.m. Friendship Cemetery in Springdale on April 20, 2013.
