Elizabeth 'Betty' Roberts Ream

Elizabeth "Betty" Roberts Ream, 94, of Bella Vista, Ark., died peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Highland Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Bella Vista. She was born April 25, 1918, in Bridgeport, Conn., to George Henry Roberts and Grace Tait Roberts. She was raised in Connecticut and graduated from Stephens College in Missouri in 1938. She married Norman Calvin Ream, whom she met while attending college in Missouri, on April 13, 1940, in Fairfield, Conn. They had one daughter, Sally Ann. They moved from Ohio to Southeast Florida in 1955, where she helped run the family storage business. She was very active with the League of Women Voters and received her bachelor's in government from Florida Atlantic University in 1966. They moved to Bella Vista, Ark., in 1978. She volunteered with the NWACC Library for many years, was active with the Bella Vista Garden Club and the League of Women Voters. She enjoyed gardening, playing Bridge, round-dancing and was faithful attending concerts for her husband and daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman in 2004; and her parents. She is survived by daughter, Sally Ream Benson; son-in-law, Robert; brother, George H. Roberts Jr.; nieces, Laura Roberts Hoover (Ralph) and Grace Roberts (Theo Brooks). Staying with Elizabeth's wishes, there are no services planned.
