Charles Corbett George

Charles Corbett George, 83, of Springdale passed away April 12, 2013, at his home. He was born July 21, 1929, in Washington County to Charles and Mae Cornelison George. Angels carried his spirit from this life to the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family who adored him. He will be sorely missed, but there is comfort in knowing he is in Heaven with his Lord whom he loved and served faithfully during his life on Earth. Dad, you beat us home, but we'll be coming soon! He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Naomi Harrington George; five children, Charlotte George Benson and husband, Gary, of Bethel Heights, Freddy George and wife, Marion, of Fayetteville, Carma George of Locust Grove, Okla., Bobby George of the home and Cindy George Nesbitt and husband, Kelly, of Rogers; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Faith Freewill Baptist Church, where Corbett was a deacon, at 161 Casteel Lane in Springdale with Pastor Stacey Villines and pastor, Rev. Jerry Henshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Faith Freewill Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Mike Benson, Steve Benson, Drew Thompson, Jason Roughton and Jon Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Johnson and Alan Terry.
