Theresa J. Popp La Rose

Theresa J. Popp La Rose, 84, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Concordia Health & Rehab of Bella Vista. She was born on April 20, 1928, in Lake Leelanau, Mich., to Gertrude and Lorin McNeil. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lake Leelanau. She married James F. Popp on Dec. 31, 1946, at St. Mary's Church in Lake Leelanau. Jim died on June 20, 1989, at the age of 62. She was a stay at home mom and wife. She married Gerald J. La Rose on June 9, 1994. She loved to sew and work outdoors in her flower garden. She loved to golf and bowl. She had a "hole in one" golfing. She always lived her life believing we are here to make the world a better place. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; five brothers; three sisters; and one daughter, Claudia Gander. She is survived by six children, Jean Palme of Charlotte, N.C., Susan Le Cours of Lebonan, Pa., Margie Zopf of Forest Lake, Minn., Jim Popp of Davisburg, Mich., Joyce Helsel of Collierville, Tenn., Diane Fedor of Linstrom, Minn.; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel with rosary at 4 p.m. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 15, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, One St. Bernard Lane, Bella Vista, Ark.
