Marjorie Tubbs of Rogers passed away peacefully with her daughters at her bedside Saturday, April 6, 2013, at age 87. Beloved wife of the late Deane Tubbs, married 62 years; mother of Ellen De Lia (husband, Julian), Polly Boyd (husband, Jim) and her late son, Jeffrey Tubbs. Also cherished by her grandchildren, Adam, Gareth, Charles, Katie, Amy, Joe; and great-grandchildren, Audrey, Sarah, Taylor, Paige, McKenna, Evan and Zachary, whose birth will be in June. After raising her children, she returned to her professional passion, teaching first graders at Lincolnwood School, Evanston, Ill., where she taught for 18 years. Upon retirement at age 65, she and Deane went off on an adventure to Arkansas where they spent 20 blissful years in a house in the woods overlooking beautiful Beaver Lake. Children and grandchildren fondly remember summers with them in that special place. She has many treasured friends from bridge groups and Rogers Memorial Hospital where she faithfully volunteered for 20 years. She was warm, funny, smart, caring, a good listener and always good counsel. She loved her family, lived long and lived well. Thanks to God for her presence in our lives. A private family service will be held in June. Her wish is for memorial gifts to go to the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts, P.O. Box 562, Cedarburg, WI 53012.
