Frankie Lou Langenegger

Frankie Lou Langenegger, 77, died April 10, 2013, in Bentonville. She was born on July 20, 1935, to the late Robert and Daisy (Hoyt) Hughes in Abilene, Kan. She was the loving wife of David Langenegger for many years. Before retiring, she was a teacher at Oakdale Junior High School. She served in the Marine Corps and was based out of El Torro, Calif. She belonged to many educational and military organizations over her lifetime. Among those are the NWA Women's Veterans Association and the Retired Women Marine Association. Her grandfather was Sgt. Hughes, who was killed while serving as the flag bearer at the Battle of Little Big Horn at Custer's Last Stand. She loved to bake, garden and camp. She was an avid reader, sports fan who never missed one of her grandchildren's events and was very involved in their clubs. She would take her faithful pet, Daisy, everywhere she went. Frankie also enjoyed fellowship and Bible study with her church family at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Frankie is survived by her husband of Rogers; sons, Brian and Stephanie Carricaburu of California, John and Lori Langenegger, Texas, and Don and Loveta Langenegger, Kansas; daughters, Pagan Carricaburu of Rogers, and Beverly and Mark Patterson; daughter-in-law, Tricia Golden of Rogers; brother, Larry Hughes of Missouri; sisters, Mary Johnson of Bentonville, Becky Watkins of Bentonville and Margaret Coyle of Rogers; grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Golden, Jaime Grant and Mackenzy Patterson, Sam, Sadie, Seth, Scott, Shawn and Katie Langenegger; and great-granddaughter, Allison Golden. She is preceded in death by her son, Roger Golden; daughter, Karen Langenegger; sisters, Kay, Helen, Bernice; and brothers, Bob and Tommy. A funeral will be held Monday, April 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers, with Monsignor David LeSieur officiating. Burial will take place following at St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation hours are on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.
