Allyne C. Rownak, 95, of Fayetteville went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John J. Rownak, Sr. She was born in Denning, Ark., to Charles B. and Effie L. Crutchfield on Aug. 14, 1917. She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1934 and attended the University of Arkansas. She worked at Citizen's Bank in Van Buren, and then spent 23 years at Cooper Clinic in Fort Smith prior to retiring in 1982. Following retirement, Allyne and John played a lot of golf, often traveling to senior tournaments in Arkansas and Texas. They were active members of Wood Memorial Christian Church in Van Buren. She was also active in Eastern Star in Van Buren for many years. She also enjoyed movies, reading, traveling, spending time with her family and she was a loyal Razorback sports fan. Allyne is survived by her son, John Rownak and wife, Judy of Fayetteville; son, Richard Rownak and wife, Pam of Culver City, Calif.; grandsons, David and Brian of Fayetteville and Joel and wife, Emily of Lowell; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at Ocker Memorial Chapel in Van Buren at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013. Interment will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Washington Regional Hospice, 34 Colt Square, Fayetteville, AR, 72703.
