Carl D. Smith

Carl D. Smith, 86, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away April 2, 2013, at the Veteran's Hospital in Fayetteville. He was born March 29, 1927, in Cornerville, Ark., the son of Brit and Lillian A. Nutt Smith. Carl served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Smith-Doyle Contractors as a construction superintendent and was a member of the Carpenters Local Union 345. He enjoyed watching baseball, westerns and art shows on TV and enjoyed reading his Bible. He is survived by four sons and one daughter, E. Jeanette Fleming (Steve), Jerry D. Smith (Nancy), Carl R. Smith (Patti), Billy D. Smith (T.J.) and Timothy W. Smith (Marta); one brother, James D. Smith (Dorothy); 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove, Ark.
