Dena Kay Shepherd

Dena Kay Shepherd, 56, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away in her home Saturday, March 30, 2013. She lost her battle with cancer; however, her life was an expression of God's pure love. Her joy was contagious. She is survived by three daughters, Angie Fisher of Alma, Misty Johnson of Fayetteville and Randi Kay Coleman of Van Buren; a son, Calvin Smith of Fayetteville; her mother, Ernestine Shepherd of the Bidville Community, Ark.; three sisters, Lois Wood, Elaine Bowlin and Janet Critchfield, all of Bidville; two brothers, John "Tonto" Shepherd and Calvin "Moe" Shepherd of Bidville; and eight grandchildren, Steven Fisher, Christy Fisher, Micah Johnson, Kobe Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Grace Bedell, Gavin Smith and Blakely Coleman. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the Lake Fort Smith State Park Dining Hall in Mountainburg. Mrs. Shepherd will be cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. Honorary pallbearers will be Willis Marty Wood, John "Tonto" Shepherd and Calvin "Moe" Shepherd.
