Carl Richardson, 81, of Springdale, died Saturday, Nov. 17, at his home. He was born Jan. 8, 1931 in Lamar, Ark., to Oscar Earl and Alma Inez Bennett Richardson. Carl served in the United States Army during which time he earned many medals including Korea Campaign Battle Ribbon with three stars, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Korean Service Medal. Carl worked for Schmieding Brothers Produce and Schmieding Brothers Transportation. He was a member of Berry Street Baptist Church in Springdale. He was preceded in death by his wife, Oletta Joy Hawkins Richardson. Survivors include one son, Edward Earl Richardson of Springdale and wife, Teresa; one daughter, Carleta Currie of Springdale and husband, Dean; one brother, Roy Richardson of Lamar, Ark.; three grandchildren, Sara Diane Carter, Rance Edward Richardson and Callie Suzann Currie; and two great-grandchildren, Allie Lynn Carter and Rhett Finnegan Carter. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale with the Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Dean Currie, Mike Curtis, Michael Carter, Curtis Stillwell, Randy Faddis and Gary Neil. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Hawkins, Larry Cordes, Floyd Singleton, Tom Ryan and Jeff Barron. Memorials may be made to Schmieding Center for Health and Education, 2422 N.
