Charles Eugene Donahue

Charles Eugene Donahue, 89, of Winslow passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Jeremiah and Irene Leonard Donahue. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Pearl Harbor survivor and was a paint contractor. Preceded in death by son, Michael Donahue; daughter, Mollie Donahue; and grandson, Joey Knapton. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edythe Pressler Donahue of the home; three sons, Jeff Donahue and wife, Renee, of Galina, Kan., Pat Donahue and wife, Karen, of Fayetteville, and Tim Donahue and wife, Anna, of Winslow; three daughters, Dolores Grogan and husband, Dean, of Prairie Grove, Nancy Luther and husband, Alvin, of Fayetteville and Edie Phillips and husband, Wayne, of Winslow; daughter-in-law, Myra Donahue of Winslow; brother-in-law, Richard Presslor and wife, Susan, of Fayetteville; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Beard's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Marsha Cooley officiating. Burial will be in the Fayetteville National Cemetery.
