John Howard "Jack" Kerstetter, 84, of Rogers, Ark., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Shamokin, Pa., and lived and graduated from the Hershey Industrial School in Hershey, Pa. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1949 serving as a medical x-ray technician. Jack was always actively involved in the community where he lived. He was a Jaycee, a member of the American Legion, served on the local Chamber of Commerce as secretary-treasurer and president, a volunteer in area hospitals, and local community thrift stores and charities. He graduated from Dale Carnegie and enjoyed public speaking, writing, traveling, bowling and dancing. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Jack is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marjorie Wilson-Kerstetter; two sons, Kerry Mark Kerstetter and wife, Sherry, of Harrison, Ark., Kris Kendall Kerstetter and wife, Shannon, of Livermore, Calif.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with Pastor Bob Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jack's name to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250; or Dearden Alumni Campus, 109 McCorkel Road, Hershey, PA 17033. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
