Janet Marie 'Bunkie' Ellis

Janet Marie "Bunkie" Ellis went to her eternal rest on March 24, 2012; she was 65. She was born Aug. 1, 1946, in Prairie Grove. She is the daughter of Wesley and Marie Sowell. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald "Pony" Ellis; one sister, Jayne Thompson; one son, Wayne Ellis of Texas; and one granddaughter. She leaves behind five sisters and brothers, Carolyn and Roy Drain of Springdale, Bud and Donna Sowell of Springdale, Connie and Richard Gregory of Fayetteville, Tanya and Donald Webb of Goshen, and Moe Sowell of Springdale. She also leaves behind eight children, Donna and Kevin Braswell of Fort Smith, Pat Bullard, Jon Ellis, Diana Puryear, all of Bella Vista, Mark Ellis of Mississippi, Susie and Joe Richardson of Fayetteville, Pauline and Leon Taylor of Kingston, Barbara Ellis of Texas, Jeff and Tammy Ellis of Huntsville. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; countless nieces and nephews and friends. Bunkie liked to knit, do gardening; and spending time talking with friends and family. There will be a memorial service at the Town Branch Park Gazebo off the square in Bentonville on Saturday, March 31 at 10 a.m.
